Man, after all the craziness that is Qualia, it’s great to be back to good old Adachi-sensei. This was a pretty funny chapter, with a lot of that familiar comedy from Adachi, and some quite cute moments. Nothing too great plot-wise, except one confirmation that most people had already guessed, due to their masterful deductions of Adachi’s M.O, haha. Let me apologize in advance, but you know I’m not the greatest cleaner out there, and this RAW wasn’t very pretty, so this chapter doesn’t look very great! More importantly, though, are some notes for this chapter, as well as an errata for the last one. Funnily enough, we only realized it two days ago, thanks to ronptaku‘s post on AnimeSuki Forums. Basically, the new girl introduced in the last chapter is called Haruka, not Haruna. The translator simply pressed the wrong key, and since no one was checking the original when QC’ing, just typos and what not, everyone assumed Haruna was her name. And thus, it passed. 20 something days afterwards, someone noticed and we’re basically like “oh god, really?” (lol).
Also, while we’re at it, ronptaku also raised a few interesting points on his post, which, quite frankly, flew over me the first time around. We can’t be sure whether or not these are merely coincidences (hard to believe so) or if Adachi is simply having fun, but the names of many characters in MIX are, quite literally, a mix of other works, both his and Rumiko Takahashi’s. We’d already pointed out here that “Tachibana” was also the family name of one of Adachi’s H2 manga main characters, although MIX’s Tachibana is written with different kanji. However, what ronptaku noticed and posted was that, for instance, both “Nikaidou” and “Souichirou” are also names used in Rumiko’s classic “Maison Ikkoku”. Just like Tachibana, however, they’re written with different kanji. On the same note, the name of the new girl, Haruka, has also been featured in Adachi’s H2, and was also present in Rumiko’s Maison Ikkoku. They were also written differently in all three occasions.
Does this mean anything? Hardly, but it’s interesting trivia for Adachi fans nonetheless. Despite some of those names being quite common, it’s a known fact that both Adachi and Rumiko have great admiration for each other, so it wouldn’t really be weird if he was just having his fun with naming his character in MIX.
Also, last but not least on the news front, there’s supposedly a new Adachi one-shot coming out soon (as in, a few days). Can’t promise anything, but if we manage to get it (and the translator isn’t being lazy, haha) we’ll probably try to release that, too!
With all that out of the way, the new chapter is up and you can head to the sidebar to pick your preferred way of reading it. Until next time, cheers!
P.S: Name of the station is Takamidai, not Takumidai. This time mistake’s on me, typed it instead of copy/pasting and this happens. We’re on a streak lately, with these mistakes ;_;
